King David
“I have sculpted ‘David’ in his late years, an old King contemplating a life crowded with events: heroic, noble but also full of guile and strategy. The cigar has no significance, as Freud himself said: ‘Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar’”. F.M. On a revolving marble base.

Small Noah’s Ark with Waves
This special sculpture has animals’ heads through the ark’s door portholes that when opened reveals their backsides. "I have shaped the Noah's Ark in the form of a Phoenician vessel as they were the seafaring people in biblical times. The prow of the Ark is in the shape of a dove, in contrast to Phoenician ships which had ferocious beasts carved on their prows. I interpreted Noah as a dreamer sitting at the stern as far away from the animals as possible. The Hamsa pendant hanging from the stern wards off the Evil Eye and is used by local fishermen to this day against the dangers of the sea." F.M.

Toulouse Lautrec
“The painter, Henri Toulouse Lautrec, who worked in Paris in the 1890’s, is famous for his portrayal of the city’s Bohemian life. A fall from a horse in childhood stunted the growth of his legs and the image of the elegant dwarf who painted beautifully the glitter and decadence surrounding him has become a symbol of his time. Much of his work was done in the brothels of Paris. His mistress, Yvette Gilbert, is shown here peeping out at the audience from the folds of his jacket.” F.M. On a revolving marble base.
22.5”h x 10”w
